Whether we’re aware of it at the time or not, color plays a large role in influencing how we feel. That’s why, for the past 25 years, the Pantone Color Institute has announced a forecasted Color of the Year based on research they’ve done, particularly regarding events shaping the world. At Perfect Fit Window Fashions here in Estero, we love helping our customers determine which colors work best for their homes, including the Color of the Year. Read on to learn more about this year’s selection!
Why Do We Need Forecasted Colors?
All industries that produce a product for fashion, home furnishings, hospitality, and automotive follow forecasted trends. The forecasted colors start in fashion and then move to home furnishings, hospitality, and finally automotive. Each industry takes the forecasted color direction and adjusts it to their area and products. Warmer-climate colors may be lighter, and cooler-climate colors may be a bit darker than the actual forecasted color. This year, Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, noted, “In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a color radiant with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless.”
Welcome PANTONE Peach Fuzz 13-1023
Few people can argue that we haven’t had some tumultuous times here in the United States and around the world. In response, the Pantone Color Institute offers a “heartfelt peach hue bringing a feeling of kindness and tenderness, communicating a message of caring and sharing, community and collaboration.” Peach Fuzz is a “gentle” peach with an “all-embracing spirit” that “enriches heart, mind, and body.” The company adds that it is “poetic and romantic…with a vintage vibe” and that it “has been refashioned with a contemporary ambiance.”

Warm, soft, and cozy, Peach Fuzz will bring a welcoming aesthetic to your home. You can add it through paint color on an accent wall, home décor such as a fluffy throw pillow, or bedding.
